VRM TEAM A.S.D. in collaboration organizes ASICS TRAIL OF THE WALLS urban trail running event included in Fidal National Calendar.

Program Timetable

Meet from 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at San Zeno Square (VR)

Departure 8:30 p.m. from San Zeno Square (VR)

(Departure time may vary based on requirements for road closures to traffic)

Route

The competition takes place on a mostly dirt route with a length of about 17 km with a positive elevation gain of about 400 meters

Participation requirements

According to the provisions of the “Rules for the Organization of Non-Stadia Events” issued by the FIDAL, athletes registered in Italy may participate limited to persons 18 years of age and older (thousandth of age) who meet one of the following requirements

  • Athletes registered for 2024 for FIDAL affiliated clubs (Promesse, Senior and Master categories);
  • Italian and foreign Athletes in possession of Runcard (valid as sports insurance and permission to compete) and Athletes registered for a Sports Promotion Body (Sect. Athletics), in possession of Runcard-EPS and Runcard Trail, limited to persons from 20 years of age in possession of a valid medical certificate of specific agonistic fitness for athletics, which must be compulsorily delivered, also digitally, to the organizing companies of each event.
  • Italian/foreign athletes not registered in Italy holding membership cards of clubs affiliated with Foreign Athletics Federations recognized by World Athletics valid for 2024. At the time of registration, they must alternatively submit self-certification of possession of the World Athletics recognized card. The self-certification should then, however, be signed in original at the time of bib pick-up.

Methods of enrollment

Registration is open from March 1 to August 29, 2024 can be done online through endu.net or at Verona Marathon Hub in Circonvallazione P. Maroncelli 7/e – Verona.

It will also be possible to register on the afternoon of August 31 at the race secretariat in San Zeno Square.

Registration is considered effective and confirmed when all the information requested in the registration form is provided correctly and payment is made, confirmed and accepted by the organization.

Registration Fees

Membership costs:

  • 20 euros from March 1 to April 20, 2024
  • 23 euros from May 1 to June 30, 2024
  • 27 euros from July 1 to August 9, 2024
  • 30 euros from August 10 to 29, 2024
  • 35 euros on the day of the event

registration fee includes:

    • Any return transportation in case of injury
    • Organizational and support services described in this regulation
Refund of registration fees

There is no refund of the registration fee under any circumstances.
It is possible to transfer one’s already purchased bib no later than 10.08.2024.
In this case, the successor competitor will have to pay the secretarial fees and the difference between the fee paid by the transferor and the fee in effect at the time of the change request.

It is also possible to postpone the enrollment to 2025 with the payment of secretarial fees, no later than 08/20/2024.

The cost of secretarial fees is 10 euros.

Event cancellation due to health reasons

In case the event cannot be held on the date of August 31, 2024, the organization plans to move it to the 2025 edition free of charge.

Respect for the environment

Participation in the “I don’t litter” campaign

Athletes, under penalty of disqualification, must behave in a manner respectful of the natural environment, especially avoiding littering, near refreshments and along the entire route.

Chest Pickup

The bib can be picked up upon presentation of the confirmation letter and photo ID:

    • Saturday, August 31 from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the race secretariat in Piazza San Zeno – Verona
Bib

The starting number is given in sequential order.

The breastplate must be worn on the chest and be made visible in its entirety at all times throughout the race. It must be placed over all clothing and under no circumstances fixed anywhere else, under penalty of disqualification.

A chip is affixed to the bib, which cannot be removed in any way.

Gathering

Before the start, each runner must compulsorily go through the entrance gates to the closed starting area where the mandatory equipment will be checked.

Participants, if necessary, may be divided into starting grids based on the criteria defined by the Organizing Committee.

CHANGING ROOMS AND SHOWERS ARE NOT CURRENTLY PROVIDED.

PICKUP AND DELIVERY SERVICE OF PERSONAL GARMENT BAGS IS PROVIDED

The event will be held in all weather conditions.

Refreshments on the route

The refreshment stations will be supplied with drinking water and food items.

Plastic cups will not be available at any of the refreshment stations: to drink, runners must equip themselves with a glass or other personal container suitable for use.

Two refreshments are provided:

  • km 4 to the church of St. Matthias
  • km 12.5 in Castel San Pietro

After arrival there will be delivery of a bag containing water and solids.

Running Rules

By registering, the runner signs a commitment to carry all the mandatory equipment listed below throughout the race, under penalty of disqualification. Mandatory materials may be checked at bib pickup, at the start and/or at surprise locations along the course and at the finish.

Required materials:

    • personal glass with a minimum capacity of 150 cc (water bottle if with a wide cap is valid as a glass): NO GLASSES ARE PROVIDED AT REFRESHMENTS!
    • Head flashlight or flashlight placed over the race bib.

The competitions are held on a self-sufficient basis, so in the sections of the race that separate the various aid stations set up along the route, each athlete must provide clothing, communications, water and food supplementation on his or her own.

Recommended material:

    • Thermal sheeting
    • Whistle
    • Cell phone
    • Adequate water supply (minimum 1 liter )
Maximum time

The maximum time for the race is 3h hours

A competitor who wishes to continue out of the race because he or she is out of the maximum time limit will do so assuming all responsibility for any consequences that may result.

In case of bad weather conditions and/or for safety reasons, the organization reserves the right to suspend the current trial, delay the start, vary the course, change the time barriers or cancel the race, without prior notice.

Dropouts and returns

In case of abandonment of the race along the course, the competitor is obliged to report his or her abandonment by registering as withdrawn at the nearest checkpoint.

The organization will be responsible for his return from the checkpoint to the finish area.

Retreatants are not guaranteed to return outside the checkpoints except in case of injury.

A “broom service” is planned that will walk the course following the last competitor in the race, so as to be of help to retreatants and prevent any injured people from being left unassisted.

Security and medical care

Ambulances, civil defense and doctors will be on the ground.

Rescue posts are intended to bring assistance to all persons in distress by the organization’s own means or through contracted organizations.

Medical officials are empowered to suspend competitors deemed unfit to continue the race.

Rescuers are empowered to evacuate riders judged to be in danger by all means at their convenience.

A runner who appeals to a doctor or EMT effectively submits to his or her authority and agrees to abide by his or her decisions.

Timekeeping

Timing is done by chip attached to the personal bib.

The contracted company is OTC Ltd.

Timing is done in real time i.e. by noting the interval in which the competitor crossed the start line and reaches the finish line, regardless of the start time.

Rankings and Awards

All participants will be provided with chips installed in the bib.

The timing service will be responsible for drawing up the overall men’s and women’s overall standings.

The rankings will be visible on the endu.net website

No printouts of the results will be displayed.

Awards

After the finish each runner will be given a “Finisher” medal.

The award ceremonies will be held in San Zeno Square at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31.

Prizes will be announced as soon as possible.

Disqualifications

The Competition Jury may pronounce the disqualification of a competitor in case of a serious breach of the rules.

Changes to the route or time barriers – Cancellation of the race

The organization reserves the right to change the route or the location of aid and refreshment posts at any time without prior notice. In the event of adverse weather conditions or for other reasons beyond the control of the organization and such as to endanger the safety of the competitors, the start may be postponed or canceled, the course may be modified and shortened, and the race may be stopped at any point on the course. The above changes will be taken by the Jury, also after hearing the opinion of the safety officers and medical team. Modification, suspension or cancellation of the race will not entitle competitors to any refund of the entry fee.

Security and medical care

The organization takes out liability insurance for the entire period of the trial.

Participation takes place under the full responsibility of the competitors, who waive all recourse against the organizers in case of damages and further consequences that may arise as a result of the race.

At the time of registration, the runner must sign a liability waiver.

The runner acknowledges that he or she should not register and participate if not medically fit and especially if not athletically prepared.

Image Right

By registering, competitors authorize the organization to use free of charge, without territorial or time limits, still and moving images of them while participating in the race.

Updates and final warnings

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to modify these regulations at any time for reasons it deems appropriate for the better organization of the race, after giving notice and obtaining approval from FIDAL.

For all matters not provided for in these regulations, the FIDAL and G.G.G. technical statutory regulations apply.

Any changes to services, locations, and times will be appropriately communicated to registered athletes or will be posted at https://traildellemura.run

In addition, documentation containing essential information for taking part in the race will be delivered by the organization along with the bib.

The Organization agrees to post on the website https://traildellemura.run under the “news” section any updates on the course and race conditions.
