Less than a month to go until the appointment with “ASICS TRAIL DELLE MURA,” the urban trail that will envelop competitors and fans in the magical atmosphere of a unique city like Verona, to be rediscovered in the evening hours of a late summer. In fact, the race, organized by Verona Marathon Team, will start at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2, in front of the Basilica of San Zeno, the city’s patron saint, to penetrate a 17-kilometer route, rich in history and charm.
The bridge over the Adige River in Castelvecchio, the Austrian “lasagna,” the olive trees in Valpantena, the Parco delle Mura (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2015), the Austrian ramparts, the steps leading from Castel San Pietro to the Adige River, the Torre della Catena and Porta Fura: characteristic corners that will leave in the eyes of the participants images impossible to forget, keeping them balanced between history and sports
For the occasion, the organizing company presents the medal of the 2023 edition, as always a “unique piece” collectible produced by Dalmas, on which the city skyline stands out with the bridge crossing the Adige River, the Great River on which a history was born and developed that has its origins in the Neolithic period.
Registration is still open, with a real possibility of setting a record attendance: in the last edition there were more than 500 participants. Until August 14 the participation fee will be 27 euros, the next step will bring the figure to 30 euros until August 30. But it will also be possible to register on the day of the event, at the amount of 35 euros. Each registrant will be given a rich race package, containing among other things the diploma and the very original “Finisher” medal, as well as a dedicated technical T-shirt.
